L-R bottom Smitty, Veteto, Heine, Goforth -Top Walton, Butina, Mills. This is shortly after Mills and I got to Phu Bai-mid '68. Look real close and you'll notice Mills fatigues are much darker-new guys.

Graves Phu Bai means Place of the Dead. It is just south of the old imperial city of Hue. Hue was the capital of Viet Nam when it ruled Indochina and southern China. Graves had outer walls shaped like boats with porcelain inlaid in the terra cotta walls.

This is Mr. Swearington on the right Sgt. Greer on the left, and in the middle is a WO that for the life of me haven't been able to remember his name. I remember when he got to Phu Bai he was a courier for several pallets of KY 28's and 38's. He was a con artist and a hell of a "scrounger". Maybe sombody can remember his name.
